Conversation with my son

In the car on the way home from school:
Son:  Daddy cusses all the time.
Me:  Oh?
Son:  Yeah, he says the "sh" word.
Me:  What is the "sh" word?
Son:  Shoot
Me:  That's not the "sh" word.
Son:  Really?  I thought I had figured it out.  What is the "sh" word?
Me:  I'm not telling you.  Did you tell anyone that daddy cusses?
Son:  I was talking to Mrs Freeman about it, and Mrs Bastain.

Great, so now his teacher and the aide think that my husband cusses all the time.  I guess I'll have to break out the soap.

Grown up girl

This girl, the one lounging on her bed with the laptop, just lost her very first tooth.  That tooth along with her Christmas shoes, which she declared her first "high heels" has made me realize that she is growing up.  Now to be clear the "high heals" were about 1/2 an inch and the laptop is a Barbie laptop, so I still have a few years to learn how to make up on so I can teach her.

Who's clues?

Blues Clues has been a great help to me during all the errands I have to run during Christmas time.  Jakey has been carrying his handy-dandy notebook as he follows me through stores, jotting down clues.  The main problem is there never seems to be a thinking chair handy, so he's had to improvise.  Well, at least he's on the side walk and not in the middle of the street.

An Open Relationship

Oh Costco, after I have admired you and sang your praises on my blog for my one loyal reader, you have betrayed me.  Seems that everyone knows of your Christmas Card deal.  And a surprising amount also have my good taste in choosing backgrounds.  Oh well, at least the photo in the card is different, for now.

The Christmas Spirit, sort of

Caleb, Eliana and I decided to make a Christmas mural for our house.  It was going wonderfully well.  I was super happy that Caleb was drawing so intently since he doesn't usually go for crafts.  He drew very carefully a house and a santa and a Christmas tree on a hill.  When things were winding down I  suggested he fill his hill with something since it was empty space.  He decided to draw some rocks... and then people falling down the rocks.  So now we have a beautiful mural on our kitchen wall filled with a nativity and trees and ice skaters and santas and snowmen and people falling down rocks.

For the love of Costco

I have a new found love for Costco.  I was about to order Christmas Cards from an online photo store when a friend told me about Costco's photo cards.  You can order them on the internet and pick them up the next day for less than half the price!

I am not technologically inept

I have just created my own blog.  We'll see if pictures follow. Baby steps.
